Adrian Peterson Teams Up with The Athletes’ Corner & Feeding America® to Help Feed Families in Tennessee
5,000 meals* will be provided to food banks in Tennessee for each touchdown scored by the Titans during the holiday months of November and December. 10,000 meals will be provided when Adrian Peterson scores.
November 8th, 2021 – NASHVILLE, Tenn—Last night was a special night for newly signed Tennessee Titans running back and future Hall of Famer, Adrian Peterson. The 2012 NFL MVP and 7x Pro-Bowler made his season debut for his new squad, as the Rams hosted the Titans on Sunday Night Football. Despite being signed just this week, Adrian and his wife Ashely are already doing their part to lift the communities in Tennessee through their A&A Peterson Family Foundation. In partnership with The Athletes’ Corner and Feeding America, The Petersons have launched ‘All Day Holiday Meals 2.0’ to help provide food to those who need it most.
During the holiday months of November and December, the organizations will help provide 5,000 meals to food banks in Tennessee for every touchdown scored by the Titans. For every touchdown Adrian scores, they will help provide 10,000 meals.
During last night’s game against the Rams, the Titans scored four touchdowns, including one by Adrian, which means 25,000 meals will be provided to food banks in Tennessee after just one game. The Titans have six more games during the months of November and December, and with the Titans scoring an average of nearly four touchdowns per game, ‘All Day Holiday Meals 2.0’ stands to feed a lot of families in need.
“As important it is to help my new team, I also want to help my new community,” said Adrian. “My wife Ashley and I have always tried to reach back and lift up those in need and it was important to make that a priority with our move to Nashville. The Athletes’ Corner has been a tremendous partner and none of this would be possible without the generous spirit of Kelenna and Brennen. I hope Titans fans will join me in remembering those facing hunger this holiday season and cheer on All Day Holiday Meals 2.0.”
This is not the first time the A&A Peterson Family Foundation and The Athletes’ Corner have teamed up to fight hunger. Last year, the organizations helped provide 132,000 meals through their initiative with Adrian called “All Day Holiday Meals”. Adrian worked to draw more attention to hunger by lacing up a pair of custom cleats during the Lions’ Thanksgiving Day game and writing an op-ed in the Detroit Free Press.
“We cannot say enough good things about Adrian and Ashley. They are exemplar leaders of how we should all strive to help lift communities in every way possible, and we couldn’t be happier to partner with them again to fight hunger,” said Kelenna Azubuike, Co-Founder of The Athletes’ Corner and Color Commentator for The Golden State Warriors “Adrian is one of the greatest players of all-time on the field, and he’s one of the greatest humans off it. We hope that athletes around the world learn from his example on how to selflessly give back to those who need it most.”
The five Feeding America member food banks in Tennessee that will be benefiting from this campaign include the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee (Nashville, TN), Mid-South Food Bank (Memphis, TN), Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee (Maryville, TN), Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee (Kingsport, TN), and Chattanooga Area Food Bank (Chattanooga, TN).
According to Feeding America’s Map of the Meal Gap Study, 1 in 6 children in Tennessee face hunger. The Athletes’ Corner and the A&A Peterson Family Foundation are working to help provide as many nourishing meals to these families as possible and anyone interested in helping provide more meals, should contact Brennen from The Athletes’ Corner at: brennen@theathletescorner.org
