Current Campaigns to Fight Hunger Through Sports

Feeding Families with Jalen Ramsey

Feeding Families with Jalen Ramsey will provide 5,000 meals for every interception, sack, and forced fumble that the entire Los Angeles Rams defense records during the 2021-2022 NFL Season. There will be a 2x multiplier applied when Jalen records an interception, sack, or forced fumble – which means Jalen’s game-sealing interception on Sunday will result in 10,000 meals being provided to a food bank in the Los Angeles area with the help of Feeding America®.

Score More n' Feed More with Zach & Julie Ertz

The campaign, “Score More n’ Feed More”,  will provide 5,000 meals for every touchdown the Arizona Cardinals score during the entire season. The Cardinals, who have an NFL-best record of 7-0, scored 4 touchdowns on Sunday, keeping up with their season average. As a result, 20,000 meals will be provided to local food banks in Arizona with the help of Feeding America®.

Swishes for Dishes with the Golden State Warriors

The Warriors, Kaiser Permanente, and The Athletes’ Corner have expanded the Swishes for Dishes food insecurity initiative to include the Golden State Warriors, Santa Cruz Warriors (NBA G League), and Warriors Gaming Squad (NBA 2K League) for the 2021-22 season.  With the help of Feeding America, 100 meals will be donated to Bay Area food banks for each point the Golden State Warriors score throughout the regular season, while each point the Santa Cruz Warriors and Warriors Gaming Squad score equates to 10 meals donated to local food banks.

All Day Holiday Meals with Adrian Peterson

During the holiday months of November and December, The Athletes’ Corner is partnering with Adrian and his A&A Peterson Family Foundation to help feed families in Tennessee. For every Titans touchdown scored, 5,000 meals will be provided to local food banks in Tennessee with the help of Feeding America. For every AD TD, 10,000 meals will be provided.

Reliability & Support

Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger-relief organizations for support

Matthew 25:35-40

On top of the alarming hunger statistics mentioned above, another major reason The Athletes’ Corner is feeding the hungry is due to our focus on faith. The Athletes’ Corner feels strongly that feeding the hungry is something Christ has asked us to do, given the verses found in the Bible in Matthew 25: 35-40 (ESV).

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
