The Athletes' Corner vs. Hunger

The Athletes’ Corner partners with professional athletes and their foundations to provide meals in a creative way – based on their on-field / on-court performances!

Every athlete we partner with has the opportunity to provide meals to their communities through their performance – so that we’re fighting hunger with every touchdown, birdie, or 3-point shot made.

1 in 6... 1 in 4...

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, 1 in 6 people may experience food insecurity in 2020 - including 1 in 4 children

Reliability & Support

Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and need to rely on their local food banks and other hunger-relief organizations for support

Matthew 25:35-40

On top of the alarming hunger statistics mentioned above, another major reason The Athletes’ Corner is feeding the hungry is due to our focus on faith. The Athletes’ Corner feels strongly that feeding the hungry is something Christ has asked us to do, given the verses found in the Bible in Matthew 25: 35-40 (ESV).

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’

37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
